James Parsons Art and Appraisals
James Parsons began in the art business in Denver in 1964, the year he earned his law degree from the University of Denver. He has bought, sold and traded American, Western and Southwestern art continuously since then. His broad knowledge extends from important works by well known artists to the rare, esoteric pieces by the less known artists who were active in the American West. He is a member of the Appraisers Association of America, the Taos Art Association, the Harwood Museum Alliance and the Lineberry Museum of Taos. His research-based appraisal work has found broad acceptance in bank trust departments and by insurance companies, collectors and the Internal Revenue Service. Jim Parsons has published numerous articles on valuation and investing in art and authored "The Art Fever," a book on the art trade.
